Parents,

Meet Landon! He is a 3-year-old patient at Young Dentistry for Children’s Westminster office. Follow Landon through his appointment so you know what to expect for this age group (2-4 years old).

An introduction to the dental assistant and the instruments

The instruments are shown and described in an age-appropriate, non- threatening way.

Landon is shown how to brush his teeth

The dental assistant reviews tooth brushing.

A little break is taken and Landon is rewarded with praise

Landon receives praise and positive reinforcement while he takes a little break.

Landon’s dad keeps him comfortable through the exam

A knee to knee exam with the parent allows the dentist to examine the teeth in a comfortable position for Landon.

Fluoride is applied to Landon’s teeth

Topical fluoride is placed with a paintbrush.

A regular dental appointment will ensure Landon is comfortable in the dentist office

Landon’s confidence builds as he comes to the dentist every six months.
